Saadani National Park is Tanzania’s 13th national park and has an area of about 1,062 km². It was officially gazetted in 2005 and is managed under the Tanzania National Parks Authority. The park is located administratively in southeast Pangani District of Tanga Region and northeast Chalinze District of Pwani Region.
This is a Tanzania’s only wildlife sanctuary bordering the sea, Saadani National Park has a huge variety of wildlife including lion, leopard, zebra, giraffe, elephant, buffalo, hippo, hyena, vervet monkey and colobus monkey though you can compare it to Serengeti but when you want to be nearer to the see this is the one you can’t miss your pressure. The park is located about 4 hrs drive from Dar Es Salaam city.
Saadani is one of the few breeding sites for endangered Green Sea Turtles and the only Tanzania Park to protect the mangrove forest. The coastal forest in this unique park harbors rare species of Black and white Colobus Monkeys.

By Air. With its own airstrip, Saadani Airstrip, Saadani National Park can be accessed from main tourist areas like Arusha, Mwanza, Zanzibar (14 minutes), Manyara, and Dar es Salaam.
